The outside of your house has a list too.
Gutters, storm and screen doors, weather seals and caulk, fence gates and latches, mailboxes, house numbers, and porch light swaps. The curb-appeal and keep-it-sealed stuff.
The honest scope
The outside of a home takes a beating from KC weather, and a few small jobs at the right time keep the expensive problems away. This is some of the highest value, lowest cost work I do. I keep it to single-story and ground-level work for safety, and refer roof and high-ladder jobs to the right specialist.
Gutter Cleaning
Single-story gutters and downspouts cleared so KC rain drains away from your foundation instead of into your basement.
Storm & Screen Doors
Storm doors and screen doors installed straight, sealed, and closing the way they should.
Weather Seals & Caulking
Weatherstripping and exterior caulk replaced so you stop paying to heat and cool the outdoors.
Fence Gates & Latches
Sagging fence gates and broken latches repaired so they actually close and stay closed.
Porch Lights
Like-for-like porch and exterior light fixture swaps on existing wiring. Brand new wiring is a licensed electrician, and I will tell you which you need.
Mailboxes, House Numbers & More
Mailboxes and house numbers installed, patio furniture set up, and the small exterior odds and ends knocked out in one trip.
Where I stop and a specialist starts
Roof work, two-story and high-ladder gutter jobs, new exterior wiring, and structural fence or deck rebuilds are specialist or licensed work. I keep it safe and ground-level and point you to the right pro for the rest.
Exterior: common questions
Do you clean gutters on a two-story house?
Can you install a storm door or screen door?
Can you replace my porch light?
Do you repair fence gates?
Not sure if it is a "you" job or a "specialist" job?
Text me a photo. I will tell you straight, for free, whether I can knock it out or whether you want a licensed pro. No charge for an honest answer.
